Yumi Hirayama

Born and raised in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Yumi studied business administration at college and since then has utilized her skills in accounting and computer studies at a great variety of companies. After college she began work as an administrator for a construction company, subsequently working as an instructor at a communication software development company for about four years. She then started her own business as a freelance technical writer, working closely with clients to design and produce user manuals, publish books and create advertisements for software and hardware products. In 2005, she moved to St. Louis, USA for four years with her family, and after returning to Japan worked at a jewelry wholesale company. Yumi now works at Empire Japan as the office manager. She enjoys cooking food, taking photos of food, eating food, and showing people photos of the food she cooked or ate.
